ASA Helper Certificate
Role Descriptor:
The holder is able to help with a club/group activity under the guidance of a qualified ASA Teacher/Coach.

Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching)
Role Descriptor:
When qualified the holder will be equipped to assist a senior (Level 2 qualified) Swimming Teacher working under their direct supervision.

Swim England Assistant Coach
Role Descriptor:
When qualified the holder will be equipped to actively support a more senior qualified/licensed Coach in the delivery of a pre-prepared session.

ASA Certificate for Teaching School Swimming (Key stages 1 & 2)
Fundamentals

Role Descriptor:
When qualified the holder will be equipped to actively assist and/or support a more qualified teacher in the delivery of a range of core aquatic skills to a small group within the context of a school swimming programme.
This course is open to any person working within a primary school swimming programme.
Pre-requisite age 16+, under 18 are required to show evidence of previous training
Candidates are required to hold a valid Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) certificate
Aquaskills
Role Descriptor:
When qualified the holder will be equipped with the skills to plan and evaluate a programme designed to meet the the swimming component of the National Curriculum and to teach without supervision a range of skills within a school swimming programme.
Pre-requisite hold module 1/Fundamentals
Candidates are required to hold a valid Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) certificate

Swim England CIMSPA Level 2 Teaching Swimming
Role Descriptor:
When qualified the holder will be equipped to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of consecutive sessions within the context of a self prepared scheme of work.
Pre-requisite age 16+
All candidates must also have at least one of the following:
ASA Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching)
ASA/UKCC Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics
ASA Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Swimming post 2002
ASA Assistant Teacher Certificate (Swimming) post Sept 1994
Gained exemption prior to enrolment on the learning programme from the ASA
It is recommended that candidates hold a valid Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) certificate

Swim England Swimming Coach
Role Descriptor:
When qualified the holder will be equipped to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of consecutive sessions within the context of a macro cycle prepared by a senior/licensed coach.
Pre-requisite age 18+
All candidates must also have at least one of the following:
Be holders of the ASA/UKCC Level 1 Certificate for Coaching Swimming
Be holders of the ASA Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Swimming post 2002
Be holders of the ASA Assistant Teacher Certificate (Swimming) post Sept 1994
Gained exemption prior to enrolment on the learning programme from the ASA
It is recommended that candidates hold a valid Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) certificate
